Rich, round and robust in structure, this red wine showcases ripe, concentrated flavors of dark fruit, complemented by chocolate, molasses. Concentrated aromas of graphite, boysenberry, dark cherry, a hint of menthols and black olive sit atop clove and brown sugar notes, all layered over soft, fine-grained tannins. It’s medium-to full-bodied with medium chewy tannins and finish. Folie a Deux Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine is a pure expression of its region. James Suckling scored this 92 points saying "Tight and focused for a 2017 with plenty of ripe-berry and light spice character. 985 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot, the wine was aged for 22 months in a combination of French, American and Hungarian oak barrels, 22% new. ![]() ![]() This Cab underwent a maceration period of 10 to 16 days which brought rich color, medium body, balanced mouthfeel and excellent aging potential. The fruit yielded rich flavors and soft tannins. 2017 brought abundant sunshine allowing the grapes to ripen evenly throughout the growing season. Grapes for this Cab were sourced primarily from their Cloverdale Estate vineyard in the heart of Alexander Valley. Alexander Valley is one of the premier regions in all of California for Cabernet Sauvignon, lead by giants like Jordan, Silver Oak, Simi, Stonestreet and many more.
